Purpose: The purpose of the Awards and Nominations Committee is to help advance the civil engineering profession by recognizing meritorious performance and to assist in maintaining highly qualified leadership at both the Section and National ASCE committee levels.  Annually the committee prepares a nomination slate of NCS officers.

Organization: The Committee consists of the Chairperson who is the immediate Past President of the Section, and four other members:  two additional Past Presidents; one member active in the Younger Member Forum (YMF); and a member who has been active in Section affairs but is not a member of the Board of Directors.

Activities: Nominations (Section):  The Committee prepares a nomination slate to fill NCS positions of President, vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, and vacancies on the Board of Directors.

Awards: The Committee makes nominations for meritorious awards, both National and Section, to the Section Board of Directors. For the Annual Section Awards Banquet, the Committee makes nominations for the following awards:  Community Service, Meritorious Service, Outstanding Civil Engineering Project, and other special awards.

Meetings: Meetings to consider requests and candidates are held at the call of the Chair.  All recommendations are coordinated with appropriate committees of the Section.
